Boat Ready privacy policy

Boat Ready answers what safety equipment federal rules require a recreational boat to carry, and lets you keep that answer per boat. It works with no signal, which is the point, since the question tends to arrive at a ramp.
There is no account and no server
You do not sign in, because there is nothing to sign in to. This app has no database of ours, no cloud sync and no backend. Everything it knows is written to your phone's own storage and stays there.
What is stored, on your device
- The boats you save: the name you gave each one, its length, its hull and engine details, and the other answers the requirements depend on.
- Which items you have ticked off for each boat.
- Whether the app is unlocked, so it does not have to ask the App Store every time it opens.
That is the whole list. No name, no email address, no phone number, no location, no registration or hull number is asked for or kept, and a boat's name is whatever you decide to type.
Nothing above is ever uploaded, because there is nowhere to upload it to.
Who else is involved
Apple, and nobody else. The unlock is a one-time purchase made through the App Store, so Apple handles the payment and tells the app only that the purchase exists. Apple never receives anything you entered.
There is no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no tracking software of any kind. There is no language model. There is no server of ours for anything to be sent to.
The one moment anything leaves
The app has a link to the US Coast Guard's own site, because the official source should always be one tap away. Tapping it opens your browser, and what happens then is between you and the Coast Guard under their policy. The app sends nothing with you and is not told that you went.
Deleting it
There is no account to close. Deleting the app removes your boats and your checklists with it, and there is no copy anywhere else, so if a boat's details took a while to enter, write them down before you delete. Your purchase is held by Apple rather than by us, so reinstalling and tapping Restore brings the unlock back without paying again.
