Crosscheck privacy policy

Crosscheck compares a medical bill against the statement your insurer sent for the same care, and writes out the questions the difference raises. This policy explains what is kept, where it sits, and who can reach it.
This is health information, and it is treated that way
A bill and an explanation of benefits describe what was done to your body, by whom, and when. There is no useful way to soften that, so the rest of this page is specific rather than reassuring.
What is stored
- Your email address, and a subscription status field that is unused in this version.
- Each case: the figures you entered from the bill and from the insurer's statement, and the differences between them that Crosscheck worked out.
- Each letter it composed for you, kept so you can find it again.
What is not stored
No password, because there is not one. Signing in is by a code sent to your email address. No insurance member number, no policy number, no card details and no clinical notes are asked for as fields.
Nothing is sent to a model, and nothing is sent to your insurer
Crosscheck does the comparison with ordinary arithmetic on our own servers. No part of your case is sent to a language model or to any other company for processing.
It also never contacts anybody on your behalf. It writes a letter and hands it to you. Whether it is sent, to whom, and what happens next is entirely yours, and we have no visibility into any of it.
Who can see it
You, and nobody else using the app. Every table checks the signed in account against the owner of the row before it returns anything. There is no sharing feature, no advocate view and no employer or insurer access. We do not sell any of it and we do not send it to advertisers.
Who else is involved
Supabase hosts the database and sends the sign in codes. This app has no in-app purchase in this version, so nothing about a payment or a subscription reaches Apple or anyone else.
Deleting it
Deleting your account removes your profile, every case and every letter, immediately and unrecoverably. Save any letter you still need before you delete.
