Downpour privacy policy

Last updated 3 October 2026.

Downpour plays rain for sleep. The rain is built live on your phone rather than played from a recording, so nothing is streamed or downloaded while you listen and it works with no signal at all.

There is no account and no server

You do not sign in, because there is nothing to sign in to. This app has no database of ours, no cloud sync and no backend.

Three things are stored, on your device

  • Whether the app is unlocked, so everything the unlock opens plays without asking the App Store every time, including with no signal.
  • The settings you last used: the surface, Slower and Lower, the volume and the sleep timer, so the app opens the way you left it.
  • When the app last asked for a rating, described below.

That is the whole list. None of it says who you are, and nothing is ever uploaded, because there is nowhere to upload it to. Deleting the app deletes all three.

It asks for no permissions: not your microphone, not your location, not your contacts and not your photos.

Who else is involved

Apple, and nobody else. The unlock is a one-time purchase made through the App Store, so Apple handles the payment and tells the app only that the purchase exists. We never see payment details. There is no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no tracking software of any kind, and no server of ours for anything to be sent to.

Deleting it

Delete the app. There is no account to close and no data held anywhere else by us, so there is nothing to ask us to remove. Your purchase is held by Apple, so reinstalling and tapping Restore brings the unlock back without paying again.

The rating prompt and Contact support

After something in the app has gone well, it may now and then ask Apple to show the App Store's own rating sheet. So that it asks rarely, it keeps one small note on your device: how many times things have gone well, the last two days they did, and the app version it last asked on. Nothing you entered is in that note, and it never leaves the device. Whatever you choose in the rating sheet is handled by Apple.

Contact support opens your own mail app with a message addressed to support@carrierpress.com. The subject line carries the app's name, its version and your phone's system version, so we know which build you mean. Nothing is sent unless you send it, and the app is not told whether you did.
