Homeroom privacy policy

Homeroom is a homeschool record for one family. Almost everything in it is about a child, so this policy leads with that rather than working up to it.
This is a record about named children
You enter your children yourself. For each one Homeroom keeps the name you typed, a date of birth, a grade label, and whether they are currently active. Against each child it keeps attendance dates and hours, any note you added, the work you logged with its subject, title and description, and a reading log.
None of it is shared with anyone. There is no other parent, no teacher, no classroom and no directory in this app. It is a filing cabinet, not a network.
Uploaded documents are private, on purpose
Work samples, filed affidavits and evaluator letters go into a private storage area, not a public one. That distinction is the point: in several states those documents carry a home address and a parent's signature, and a public bucket would make them readable by anyone who ever saw the link. Only your signed in account can read yours.
What is stored
- Your email address, your timezone, your state, and the school year you are recording.
- Each child, with the name, date of birth and grade you entered.
- Attendance, work and reading logged against a child.
- Files you upload, in private storage.
- A reminder preference, meaning whether you want one and at what hour. Homeroom stores that setting today and does not currently send reminder email. If that changes, this page changes with it.
- Whether your subscription is active, and when the period ends.
What is not stored, and where nothing goes
No address, no phone number, no payment details. Purchases happen through the App Store and card details never reach this app. Nothing you write is sent to an AI model: Homeroom does not use one.
Who can see your records
You, and nobody else using the app. Every table checks the signed in account against the owner of the row before it returns anything, so another family cannot reach your children's records even if they go looking.
Deleting it
Account, then delete. It removes the account itself, and your children, attendance, work, reading log and uploaded files go with it. It cannot be undone and we cannot recover it for you. Deleting the account does not cancel an App Store subscription, which is billed by Apple: cancel that in your device Settings.
