Relay support

Last updated 15 September 2026.

Relay is where a family keeps one record of the person they are all looking after: medications, appointments, doctors, and a feed where every update has a type.

Why you have to choose a type before you write

Every update is medical, logistics, mood or financial, and the type is required. A type that could be skipped would be skipped, and the feed would decay back into the group chat it replaces. The filter sits at the top of the feed, not in settings, because reaching "what happened medically this month" in one tap is the point.

An update can also be marked as needing action, and anyone can mark it done later. That answers what a group chat answers worst: did anybody actually book it.

What a helper sees, and what they do not

There are three roles. The owner pays, invites and changes roles. Family members see and post everything. A helper, meaning a paid carer or a neighbour, sees the medical, day to day and wellbeing updates and can post their own, and sees nothing in the money thread.

That separation is enforced by the database rather than by hiding a tab, and a helper is not offered the financial filter at all.

Invite codes

Only the owner can invite, and family and helper are two different buttons: the role travels on the code rather than being chosen by whoever joins. A code works once and lasts seven days. The owner can change a role, or remove somebody, from the Circle tab.

Relay is not a medical record

Relay does not connect to any hospital, surgery, pharmacy or insurer. There is no portal login, no import, and nowhere to put a record that came from one. Everything in it is what a member of your family typed in.

So Relay cannot tell you whether anything in it is right. A medication name and dose are shown back exactly as somebody copied them off the box, and none of it is a substitute for talking to a doctor.

What Relay does not do

  • No documents, photographs or scans. There is nowhere to store an insurance card or a letter.
  • No reminders and no notifications. An unclaimed appointment will not chase anybody.
  • No date picker. A new appointment starts at the current time as a placeholder and you edit it afterwards.

Subscription

One subscription covers the whole circle, however many of you there are. What it costs and how often it renews are shown on the purchase screen inside the app, which reads them from the App Store for your country rather than repeating a figure from a web page.

Managing or cancelling

A subscription bought through the App Store is managed on your device: Settings › your name › Subscriptions. Cancelling there stops the renewal and leaves the current period running to its end. We cannot cancel it for you and cannot see your payment details.

Refunds

Apple is the merchant of record, so refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Leaving, and deleting your account

Circle, then Leave and delete my account, removes your access and deletes your account and personal details.

It does not delete the circle. Your updates stay in the family's feed with your name on them, because Relay does not let one person delete a shared history. If you were the owner, ownership passes to another member; if nobody is left, the circle goes too.

Your data

Signing in is by an emailed code, so there is no password to lose. The full policy is at carrierpress.com/relay/privacy and names everyone involved: the hosting provider that stores the circle and sends the codes, the service that tells the app whether the subscription is active, and Apple, who handles the payment. Nothing your family writes goes to an AI model.
